We stand at an exciting turning point in our evolution. The time has come for us to transform the old stories that no longer serve us. To write a new human narrative that is based on collaboration instead of competition, on interconnection instead of separation.
Beyond Human Stories was sparked by a vision. Whilst journeying alone in the canyons of Utah, I was shown a world where humans are re-initiated back into the ecosystem of earth, re-awakening our place in the web of life. A world where each of us is encouraged to walk our unique path responsibly and in bravely doing so, contribute to the prosperity of all. This is a new mythology that leads us from a story of ‘me’ to a story of ‘we’.
Through personal and collective awareness, empowerment and responsibility we can make new stories that serve life on earth. We can remember, reconnect and redefine what it means to be human.
WE ARE THE STORY-MAKERS
WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.
THE MANY ADVENTURES OF A STORY-MAKER
THE SPARK OF ADVENTURE
WHO AM I? WHO AM I REALLY?
Born in Colorado USA, I spent the first years of my life running wild in the mountains, with the rocks, plants, animals and stars as my friends and teachers. My parents were archaeologists and my grandparents were embedded in the world of business and education, flavoured with a healthy dose of mysticism. As a result I grew up rooted firmly in the past whilst simultaneously having my vision trained on the horizon of human potentiality. Life was beautiful. I was happy. I was free.
CHALLENGES & TESTS
WHAT DID MY SUFFERING TEACH ME?
When I was 6 years old, my family moved to England and I began a period of feeling like an alien in a strange land. My adolescence was turbulent and rebellious, creating frequent confusion and crisis in my life. I forgot who I was underneath the layers of emotional protection. I encountered devils and monsters in multiple social forms and firmly embedded a rebellious streak that would serve as my mask for many years to come. I left ‘home’ early and wouldn’t return for a long time.
HOW IS MY LIFE GIVING ME THE ANSWERS I SEEK?
Synchronicity led me through arrest, near death experiences and a powerful whistleblowing encounter into another storytelling realm, finding a career in media & entertainment. I progressed through a series of roles within the fields of continuous improvement, cultural change and corporate social responsibility, becoming an experienced coach, facilitator and public speaker. I also trained in Continuous Improvement, NLP, Energetic NLP and Reiki, building a holistic set of skills that would serve me well.
ARE WE PREPARED TO LET THE OLD PARTS OF US DIE SO THAT WE CAN BE REBORN?
Yet for all the glamour of the media stories of ‘success’ I found myself sinking deeply into a ‘dark night of the soul’ in my late twenties when suddenly all my human stories stopped making sense. In the space of a year, I got divorced, changed jobs, moved away from friends and family and slowly began to rebuild my physical, emotional and mental health. I had lived through my first major breakdown and breakthrough. I had begun my metamorphosis towards the butterfly of my true story.
HOW CAN I GIVE AND RECEIVE THE GIFTS OF LIFE?
In 2010, I was drawn by the call of my inner adventure to strike out on my own and leapt off the corporate cliff, founding my first business, Emergency Happiness. I began working with individuals and organisations to tap into the power of their people through cultural change and transformation. I gave and received many gifts consulting within the private, public and charity sectors and over these years and many start up’s, charities and social enterprises along the way. I also completed an Msc in Responsible Sustainable Business to delve deeper into ecology, responsibility and the sustainability of human and living systems.
THE STORY THAT UNITES
HOW AM I INTERCONNECTED WITH THE UNIVERSE?
In 2013 on a solo vision quest in the canyons of Utah, I received a vision that would see me re-story my work as Beyond Human Stories. Since that moment, I have been living to tell a story that unites. To tell it and make it with every single person and organisation that I work with. Our narratives are changing. ‘We’ are evolving. It is time to gather together and re-story what it means to be human.
